Can't submit "discovered" site   11-18>|

Hi,

I can't seem to submit sites I discover anymore. When I click the "I like it" button in firefox for a new site I've discovered, I get a popup window saying:

Missing arguments
You are missing parameters required to access this page
If it still doesn't work for you, please contact us to let us know

The popup window then disappears so quickly that I don't even have time to click the "contact us" link.
I don't know what missing arguments this is referring to, and I have "discovered" sites before without a problem.

Any suggestionss?
Many thanks in advance.

Go to tools>Error Console>Clear and then repeat the "I like it" process. If behavior repeats open the error console again and see what it says.

Thanks. I cleared the error console and tried it again. It failed again and I got the following message in the error console:

[NoScript XSS] Sanitized suspicious upload to [stumbleupon.com/newurl.php [stumbleupon.com/newurl.php]] from [stumbleupon.com/newurl.php [stumbleupon.com/newurl.php]]: transformed into a download-only GET request.

Followed by a bunch of error messages, mostly about "Unknown property" or "Error in parsing value for property"

does that mean there is something wrong with the page itself and I should just move on to other pages?

BTW, this has happened for two independent sites I've found so far.

We suggest that users place 'stumbleupon.com' and 'api.recaptcha.net' in the NoScript Whitelist. If that doesn't fix the problem, please check the 'Include browser info' checkbox on your next forum post to give us more detail about your environment.

Right click your NoScript icon and go to options. add stumbleupon.com and api.recaptcha.net to your whitelist.

edit: joe beat me to the punch. He does that, you know.

That didn't fix it unfortunately. Same symptoms, except now I have an additional error message in the error console, it reads:

Error: [Exception... "'Component does not have requested interface' when calling method: [nsIInterfaceRequestor::getInterface]" nsresult: "0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://dwhelper/content/mediaresp.js :: anonymous :: line 142" data: no]

Sometimes I have the same issue. Even with stumbleupon.com and the captcha... whitelisted it still gives me trouble. If I disable NoScript entirely it will allow me to submit a site.

Ok, that seemed to do the trick. Basically, I have to disable NoScript, and restart firefox in order to submit a newly discovered site. That's a bit inconvenient. What I find odd, is that I was able to submit several discovered sites in the last 3 days without any difficulty, so I don't understand what's changed.

Thanks guys for homing in on the NoScript issue. I hope there's eventually an easier solution than disabling/enabling NoScript...

You have other issues somewhere. I have NoScript enabled and with those addys in my whitelist it functions without incident. Do you have the latest version of SU and NoScript? What have you updated recently?

edit: Go to your NoScript Options and then the advanced tab. Make sure the "Turn cross-site POST requests into data-less GET requests" is UNCHECKED.

Please check the "Include browser info" box next time you post. Thanks!

Thanks CelticWarrior: that was the problem. I've unchecked the "Turn cross-site POST..." box, and I can "discover" sites just fine now.

Thank you.
