| MemarieLane | Jan 11, 12:29pm | | Some blogger friends of mine, who host with Wordpress, say they get hundreds of hits a day just from Stumbles. My blog is hosted on Blogspot and has gotten many positive reviews, but I get no Stumble hits. Is there an incompatibility with blogs that host through Google, or might there be another reason? I'm a new user and am not sure I understand how this works. |

If you want to promote a website more efficiently: stumbleupon.com/ads/ [stumbleupon.com/ads/]. You'll get all the stats (number of thumbs up/down, etc.) and many other options for your project.
Also promoting your website through a SU account without permission of SU is against the TOS. And it isn't very efficient anyway. |

| MemarieLane | Jan 11, 12:59pm | I don't promote it, I just tag the entries I think are best. That's not considered promoting is it?
Ok, I looked through the TOS and didn't see anything about not being allowed to tag your own site unless you're trying to promote a product or service, which my blog does not do in any way. If there is a provision that says I can't tag my own blog that has no commercial content of any kind, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the specific info so I can be sure not to violate any agreements. Thanks for your help. |

| Lokito | Jan 11, 1:31pm | ML: You've submitted and reviewed 14 of your own pages. Most people would consider that spamming. You'll hit the limit eventually, and won't be able to submit any more pages from that particular site.
You can include a link to your site in your about section. You can also discover the home page of the site, and include a link to the site in a sticky post. Repeated submission of individual pages from the site owner is typically considered spam. |

| MemarieLane | Jan 11, 1:32pm | Lokito- OIC, I didn't realize that was considered spamming. Just went back through old posts last night and tagged them since I only just joined here. Didn't realize there was a limit either, I'll go back and delete some. That was very helpful, thanks!
Karolinger- because I feel they are the best representatives of what I try to accomplish on my blog.
Alice44- If you go look at what I have tagged, I have tagged other blogs I like as well.
I only joined two days ago and am still learning how all this works. Didn't realize it was so involved. Thanks for any advice and constructive criticism. |

| Lokito | Jan 11, 1:45pm | 7: I think alice's question was directed at Karolinger.
Self promotion is fine in small doses. The problem is that it doesn't come in small doses on SU. Keep to the handful of links I listed in 6 and you shouldn't have any difficulties. If SU likes your blog it'll get the job done. |

| MemarieLane | Jan 11, 1:47pm | Not according to the TOS. But like I said I'm still learning how this works. Before joining I visited Stumble pages of many of my favorite bloggers and they all post reviews of their own content so I thought that was acceptable. If it isn't I will certainly remove it.
Lokito- thanks very much, I really appreciate your input and advice. |
